Omani daily criticize American pressures on Syria

Omani daily al-Watan has criticized the US intensified pressure on Syria and Iran stressing that such pressure is intended to appease Israel.

In its commentary today, the daily expressed surprise over a country's "wish" to spread chaos in the region while at the same time is the most beneficiary of stability in the Middle East.

The daily added that it was unreasonable to set the region on fire in an attempt to extinguish the fire in Iraq.

The daily described the incapability of the United Nations to classify terrorism that doesn't mix with legitimate resistance against foreign occupation as shameful.
