Mauritania: Journalists intend to visit Israel
Mauritania-Israel, Politics, 10/7/2005

Reports indicate the determination of ten Mauritanian journalists to visit Israel within the coming weeks raised a great wave of regret and condemnation in the country.

The "national link for resisting the Zionist infiltration and defense of Palestine and Iraq" stressed on Thursday that it received "information stating that some Mauritanian journalists in coordination with the Israeli embassy in Nouakchott are preparing to visit Tel Aviv in a visit to the Zionist entity within the coming weeks."

The society called on all press organizations and commissions to prevent this visit, calling on journalists concerned to take such a measure before it is too late "and to give up their decision because it is a flagrant defiance of the feelings of the people of Mauritania and all Muslim peoples as well as halting all ties with the Zionist entity embassy in Nouakchott."
