Syria, Culture, 10/6/2005

Chairwoman of Syrian Commission for Family Affairs, Mona Ghanem, on Wednesday referred to the attention given by the government to children which is represented by several procedures, most importantly signing the agreement of Child's Rights in 1993.

Ghanem in a press conference briefed journalists on the national plan to protect children from violence, adding that children in Syria constitute about 50% of the total population, a matter that requires much care for their affairs.
