Al-Yousefeyah clashes in Baghdad

Violent clashes erupted on Tuesday between the American and Iraqi forces, on the one hand, and scores of gunmen on the other hand, in al-Yousefeyah south of Baghdad, in which warplanes took place.
An American military statement said that the fighting resulted in killing or injuring or detention of more than 36 gunmen.
Iraqi medical sources indicated that four Iraqi soldiers were killed and other 14 injured during the clashes.
In Baghdad three Iraqi security guards were killed and other 7 injured in a booby trapped car explosion targeting an American- Iraqi inspection point at an entrance of the so-called Green Zone area.
In another development in the Iraqi capital, Iraqi army forces broke into the house of Saleh al-Mutlak, the spokesman for the National Dialogue Council in al-Jame'a ( University) quarters, west of Baghdad, and arrested 10 of his guards and wounded one person during the operation. In al-Sedeyah south of Baghdad, two police men were killed and other two injured in an attack launched by gunmen at their vehicle.
