Canadian grant to support basic education

Egypt's Minister of International Cooperation Fayza Abul-Naga said the program for upgrading basic education, financed by a Canadian US $23-million grant, has begun.
The program also aims at boosting basic education in Lower and Upper Egypt.
In a press conference held at the Canadian Embassy in Egypt, Abul-Naga said the program is considered one of the main pillars in the Egyptian-Canadian cooperation strategy.
The program aims at developing human resources to provide skills required for Labor market and improve education quality.
The Egyptian-Canadian relations are witnessing great progress, the Canadian ambassador to Egypt Philip Mackinnon said during his meeting with Abul-Naga in the Canadian embassy, adding that the Canadian investments in Egypt will reach US $ 1.5 billion over the coming stage.
