Today is the first of Ramadan in Syria

The first Islamic ( Sharia ) Judge in Damascus on Monday announced that the first day of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan will be on Tuesday 1426 Hijra, October 4, 2005.
Ramadan is Islam's holiest month during which Muslims fast from dawn to dusk.
