Iraq's FM apologizes over interior minister's insults to Saudi Arabia
Iraq-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 10/3/2005
Sources among Arab delegations, in the Jeddah meeting on Iraq, said that the Iraqi foreign minister Hoshiar Zeibari during the meeting apologized for the statements made by the Iraqi minister of interior Bayan Jaber Solagh in which he strongly criticized the Saudi foreign minister, noting that Zeibari deplored these statements.
Solagh had, in a press conference in Amman, strongly criticized al-Faisal. He had said "we refuse a Bedouin riding a camel" to teach us "human rights and democracy."
He had called on Saudi Arabia to solve its own internal affairs and preserve the unity of the Saudi people before interfering in Iraq's affairs, in remarks to statements, al-Faisal had made earlier on the Iranian interference in Iraq.
