US army announces the killing of 28 gunmen in al-Qaem

The American army announced it had killed 28 gunmen in an operation started Saturday in the surrounding of al-Qaem city, west of Iraq. A medical source said that seven Iraqis including women and children were killed and others injured when a US helicopter bombarded a farming tractor they were riding in al-Rummanah village, adding that one ambulance driver was killed while trying to evacuate the victims.

Witnesses said that hundreds of the Iraqi town of Sadaah crossed the borders to Syria before the American attack on the town.
