Lebanese speaker rejects pressures on Syria
Lebanon-Iran, Politics, 10/1/2005
Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri asserted that bids of pressure on Syria for a long time are to get at the Syrian policy principals and bases that defend Arab causes.
In a speech at a dinner banquet to honor visiting Iranian Shoura Council, Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, Berri on Thursday said "targeting the region was done in framework of a declared scheme which is the Greater Middle East to reorder the region in the Israeli interests."
He also noted to pressures Iran is exposed to under the title of the nuclear file of Iran.
Berri stressed resistance would continue "as long as there is occupation and threat, and on condition that greediness for our water and land continues."
For his part, the Iranian Shoura Council Speaker renewed support to Lebanon's right in resistance and liberation of his land as well rejecting foreign interference in its affairs.
