Bush asks Jordan's king to visit Sharon; Syria's cooperation very limited
Jordan-USA, Politics, 9/23/2005
The US President George W. Bush said on Thursday that Syria's cooperation to control the border with Iraq is very "limited," and renewed his demands to stop the "crossing of suicide bombers" through its lands to Iraq.
After his meeting with King Abdullah II in the White House, Bush said that Abdullah agreed, at his request, to visit the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon and the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas with the aim to give the peace process a push forward. He added among things he asked the king is to visit the prime minister Ariel Sharon and President Abbas in order to help in the peace process there, noting the king accepted the request.
Bush continued "this will help us a lot to talks in the language of reason with the two leaders." King Abdullah said "I know you want to find out a solution so as the Israelis and the Palestinians will live in peace and amity. I hope we will be able to help you in this context. This will be a great pride for us." He added "relations between Jordan and America are strong, important and vital."
