Syria and Turkey to ink trade accord

Syria announced on Thursday an agreement would be signed with Turkey next November to open trade centers that increase trade exchanges between the two neighboring countries.
Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Hosni Lutfi, told Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade in Turkey Tonger Kayalar when met him that implementation of the Free Trade Accord between Syria and Turkey would contribute to encouraging investments between them.
Lutfi noted that bilateral ties are build on basis of mutual respect and good neighbourhood ties in addition to common concern.
For his part, Kalayar pointed out at the importance of boosting and consolidating ties in the common interest of both countries. He noted that trade exchange have witnessed remarkable development, and that the Turkish government ratified the Free Trade Accord between the two countries that would be put into implementation after the Turkish parliament ratification.
"Talks between the two officials have touched upon trade and economic ties between the two countries and means of boosting them as well as building a Free Trade Zone," SANA reported.
