Peace marchers end visit to Syria

International and Arab women bicycle ride march for peace left the Syrian border on Wednesday afternoon heading to Jordan after four-day visit to Syria that called for peace and stability in the Middle East.

Following the Women Foundation based in the UK visit to Syria joined more than 300 women from 34 Arab and foreign countries who toured tourist and archeological sites in Damascus, Quneitra and Daraa in the south.

Detta Regan, founder of the foundation told SANA that she and the participants would convey what they saw in Syria to the resty of the world, voicing happiness and gratitude for hospitability of the Syrians as well to all facilities provided since entering the border from Lebanon.

She noted that she would come back next year with a bigger number of participants for the spread of peace mainly in the Middle East.

Partakers noted that the aim of this project was to transfer a message of peace from the region states to the world, underlining they would reflect the right image from Syria. The is the foundation's second tour in the region.
