Resistance is part of a national strategy, Lebanese minister says
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 9/22/2005

Lebanese Labor Minister, Tarrad Hamade, said Wednesday that Lebanese resistance is part of a national defense strategy standing along with the army to face the Israeli occupation.

"National defense strategy permits the existence of multiple-mission armed forces to defend the land," Hamade said in a statement following a meeting with UN Secretary General representative in South Lebanon Guere Pederson.

UN representative, for his part, called on Israel to stop its violations of Lebanese airspace, underlying the importance of keeping security along Lebanon- occupied Palestine borders.

Meanwhile, Hizbullah official in South Lebanon Nabeel Qaouk said that resistance would preserve its arms as long as Israel still threatens Lebanon, adding that the Lebanese have the right to defend the homeland.

Qaouk, meeting Arab and foreign journalists delegation at al-Khiam detainee, added that resistance and the army are cooperating and coordinating to confront the Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
