Arab lawyers express solidarity with Syria
Syria-Regional, Politics, 9/21/2005

Kuwaiti lawyers announced on Tuesday solidarity with Syria to face pressures and threats she is exposed to, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Bar Association said.

In a statement to SANA, Abdurrahman Hmidan al-Hmidan said, "Any threat against Syria is a threat to the whole Arab nation." He added that Kuwait "is linked with Syria through links of kinship and fraternity across history and that Kuwait's standing by Syria is a national duty and a kind of sincerity and loyalty."

Hmidan called to solve all problems the region is facing by diplomacy and constrictive dialogue that would lead to put things in good order and reach to appropriate solutions for all issues.

A large delegation of Arab lawyers arrived in Damascus last night in solidarity with Syria in facing pressures and threats, and to "boost her position to defend Arab rights and causes."

President Bashar al-Assad talked with Arab lawyers delegation on Tuesday on the Arab situation in general and challenges facing Syria these days.

Secretary General of the Arab Bar Association (ABA) Ibrahim al-Samlali stressed support and "solidarity with Syria in facing the pressures put on it due to its stands in defense of the Arab nation's rights." In a statement upon arrival in Damascus Monday, Samlali said that threatening Syria constitutes direct threat against the Arab nation.
