EU3 distributes draft resolution against Iran

France, England and Germany (EU3) distributed their proposed draft resolution against Iran among delegates of 35-member IAEA Governing Council Monday night after a 12-hours delay, IRNA reported today.

The report said: Diplomatic sources at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, capital of Austria, confirming the issue, told reporters, that the European Union has asked in the proposal that Iran's nuclear dossier should be sent to the UN Security Council, because of "Lack of a continual cooperation on the part of Iran." In its proposed draft resolution, the EU has requested the IAEA Broad of Governors to consider and approve sending Iran's dossier to the UN Security Council in its current session.

Diplomatic sources in Vienna say, 13 members of Governing Council from non-aligned movement countries (NAM), plus Russia, China and India are opposed with the draft resolution.

Iran-IAEA A western diplomat of the board of governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said here Monday that diplomats are not yet informed of the final decision of the IAEA Board of Governors regarding Iran's nuclear activities.

Speaking at the end of the IAEA governing board session Monday night the diplomat who asked to remain anonymous told IRNA that any prediction over the issue is difficult and complicated.

"No the diplomats of the board member countries are not informed of what the decision will be taken," he reiterated.

Behind the scene, among various countries concerned about Iran' nuclear dossier, negotiations still continue and we should wait to see the final decision, he added.

He also said that the members nations are divided into two groups of pro and anti-Iran and there is no consensus over referring Iran's file to the UNSC.

"Many of the IAEA member nations oppose sending Iran's file to the Security Council maintaining that this step is not beneficial for any nation." He further referred to the support for the Iranian president's proposals on the part of the Non-Allied-Movement (NAM), saying that this posturing by NAM has put the Europeans in a difficult position.

NAM announced it supports the Iranian president's proposals Monday afternoon and called on other nations to have a positive reaction over the issue.

NAM will officially declare its position in a deceleration to be read at the IAEA governing Council.
