Aleppo is the second Islamic culture capital: mufti

Activities of " Mecca - the Islamic Culture Capital" Conference were concluded Monday with the participation of Syria's Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Hassoun.
A statement for the conference reported Sheikh Hassoun as saying that the Syrian city of Aleppo will be the second Islamic culture capital after Mecca for the year 2006. "This opportunity underlines the effective impact of Syria in spreading human and Islamic culture throughout the world, Sheikh Hassoun added.
