Women For Peace underscore peace process significance

Chairwoman of Follow The Women Foundation in the UK announced on Monday that the aim of visiting Syria was to help the peace process in the region and end the occupation of Arab occupied lands, Detta Regan, said during the Women for Peace delegation visit to liberated city of Quneitra.

The partakers exchanged peace messages with Syrian citizens over the other side of the occupied Golan who gathered there to salute them. Regan planted the tree for peace at the garden of friendship in the city of Quneitra.

Governor of the Quneitra city expressed appreciation to the position of the participants saying that this is a humanist gesture in rejection of "unfairness and occupation as well a denunciation of the continuous suffering resulted from Israel's aggression since 38 years that included women, old aged peoples and children."

It is the second FTW cycle ride that started September 15th running to 25th and joins approximately 300 women with ages ranging from 19 to 70 from various Arab and foreign countries.

The cyclists will cover a distance of almost 320 km in total as they ride through Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Palestine.

During this time they will have opportunity to meet women from different states and share their thoughts believes, aiming to create an international movement for peace.
