Sharon wants to annex Maale Adomim to Jerusalem

The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon renewed in a speech before American Jewish leaders his commitment to link occupied Jerusalem with the Maale Adomim, the major Israeli settlement in the West Bank.
Sharon said that this geographical link will not prevent contacts between the north of the West Bank and its south.
By that Sharon remarked to the various construction projects which include tunnels and bridges that can permit the Palestinian to move between the two sides of this area without stopping at Israeli military check points.
These statements also indicate the persistence of the Israeli government to keep control on the major settlement aggregations in the West Bank after the completion of its withdrawal from Gaza.
