Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz received yesterday in Jeddah the Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan after he had held on Saturday talks with former Iranian President Hashimi Rafsanjani.

The Saudi King discussed with Erdogan latest developments in the Islamic and international arenas, foremost being the developments of the Palestinian issue and the situation in Iraq as well as prospects of cooperation between the two countries.

Sources close to the talks said that the Saudi and Turkish sides touched upon means of "reforming the Organization of the Islamic conference, and the efforts made to fighting terrorism."

On the other hand, the Saudi news agency said that the meeting Abdullah held with Rafsanjani dealt with "conditions and developments on the Islamic and international arenas as well as prospects of cooperation between the two countries and means of bolstering them in all fields." The agency added that Rafsanjani conveyed to the Saudi King "greetings and appreciation of the spiritual guide of the Iranian Islamic revolution Ali Khameini and the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
