Women For Peace March arrives in Syria

Women for Peace march, on bikes, arrived in Syria Sunday coming from Beirut. The participants began their march at the Syrian-Lebanese crossing point of Jdidet Yabous heading to Damascus, where they marched through the streets of the Syrian capital.

"More than 300 women from 34 Arab and foreign countries from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Iran, Egypt, Algeria, Iraq, Sweden, UK, Spain, Germany, USA, Turkey and France are taking part in the march," Riyad Kinaya, an AREEBA, sponsoring company, official told SANA.

The women will go to the Syrian liberated city of Qunaitera tomorrow, then they will head off to Ain al-Tenah site to exchange peace letters with Syrian citizens of the occupied Syrian Golan.

The Association was established by a British lady Dita Regan in 2002, it is interested in women and peace issues in the world. The march includes Damascus, Beirut, Amman and Palestine's Ram Allah to show solidarity with Arab women suffering from wars and instability in the Middle East.
