Britain denies withdrawal plan from Iraq
Iraq-UK, Politics, 9/19/2005

The British defense office denied laying any schedule for the withdrawal of the British forces from Iraq, considering that the information issued by the Sunday Telegraph to this effect are inaccurate.

A spokesman for the British foreign office said "we had not laid any schedule.. The Defense office secretary announced that clearly.. We are there as long as we do not receive a request contrary to that from the Iraqi forces."

The statements made by the British foreign office came in line with statements made by the Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari before the world summit in New York on Saturday in which he stressed that time is not yet ripe for the departure of the coalition forces from his country.
