Bahrain, Oman confirm Abu Dhabi withdrawal from Gulf Air
United Arab Emirates-Gulf, Economics, 9/14/2005

Both Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday confirmed that Abu Dhabi emirate will withdraw from the regional carrier, Gulf Air, which is equally owned by the three governments.

The company's board will hold a meeting this week to discuss Abu Dhabi withdrawal, according to an official in the company on Monday.

The heavily indebted company since months studies the possibility of privatizing itself or even proposing a public offering. Analysis expected that Abu Dhabi withdrawal has no links to these plans.
