Baghdad joins Washington in attack against Syria
Iraq-Syria, Politics, 9/14/2005

The Iraqi officials continued accusations against Syria after the US ambassador in Baghdad strong statements this week against Syria.

The Iraqi foreign minister Hoshiar Zeibari said in a press conference in Washington on Monday evening, hours before the meeting of the American President George W. Bush with his Iraqi peer Jalal al-Talibani said that Syria is playing a dangerous game by permitting gunmen to infiltrate into Iraq thru Syria.

He stressed that Iraq has warned Syria by all means and at various official levels, noting that his government notified Damascus that it will not benefit from Iraq 's problems.

The Iraqi defense minister Sadoun al-Duleimi renewed his criticism of Syria on Monday and Tuesday for the second running day. He said "Syria is not a mere an entrance for gunmen, rather a gate of hell to Iraq."

Al-Duleimi had held Syria responsible in a press conference in Baghdad on Sunday for the sneaking of hundreds of fighters. He said "I say to our dear neighbors to be obedient to the God Almighty, and they shold stop sending destruction weapons" to Iraq.
