Trade between Egypt, India up to $813.6 million

Trade exchange between Egypt and India remarkably increased in spite of the decline of Egyptian exports to India.
As the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to $ 813.7 million, $381.6 million of which are Egyptian exports to India.
Egyptian exports to India were represented in oil and its by-products, raw cotton, phosphate and marble, while Indian exports to Egypt were represented in engineering equipment, seasem and cotton grain, plastic, chemicals, medicines, tobacco, paper, wheat, electronic sets.
Sources at the Indian embassy expect Indian exports to Egypt to increase especially after India exporting meat to Egypt as well as tea after downing customs duties to just 590.
Negotiations are underway between the two countries to boost tourist cooperation.
India comes the 12th among the countries investing in Egypt as its investments in Egypt amount to $ 330 million distributed to 43 investment projects.
