Rasheed: Free trade talks with US intensify

During his meeting with the members of the Egyptian-American Business Council under the chairmanship of Mohamed Lutfi Mansour, Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed said that the Egyptian-American Business Council will play an important role in negotiations to establish free trade area with the USA.
Rasheed said that the American Congress will discuss during the coming week the results of negotiations to include Ismailia and Mahala to QIZ protocol.
The Minister added that he also discussed the latest developments in negotiations held between Egypt and US to establish free trade area, pointing out that the negotiations achieved positive results.
The Minister reviewed with the Council the plan of action of the coming period which aims at getting the council members to join the negotiation committees related to establishing a free trade area with the USA.
The Council should organize visits for some American officials to visit Egypt to acquaint them with the latest developments achieved in Egyptian trade and economy.
The Minister said that the American market is a promising one, as it imports about 30% of Egyptian exports.
