Iran should not be lectured to on nuclear issues
Iran-UN, Politics, 9/8/2005
Iran-Nuclear-Larijani Secretary General of Iran Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani said Wednesday that Iran is a big country and should not be talked to form a position of power, the official Iranian news agency IRNA reported.
IRNA reported: At the end of his official one-day visit to Pakistan Larijani told IRNA that in his discussions with high-ranking Pakistani officials, "they were adamant that biased and one-sided behavior do not favor stability and security in the region and internationally." Some want to dish-out "nuclear apartheid" to others and this is a sort of biased and unjust behavior, Larijani stated.
He also expressed hope that regional cooperation will open new approaches for nations.
On a question as to whether under European and US pressure, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will send Iran's nuclear file to the UN Security Council, he added that "it seems that imprudent decisions will not be heeded." In today international arena, unjust behavior will have no place and maybe it is effective in the short-term but will fail in the long-term, he added.
He further said that we will strive to inform the regional nations in our peaceful nuclear activities, adding "Iranians regard nuclear technology as an inalienable right." He also stressed that peaceful nuclear technology is necessary for development of Iran.
