Golanese renew attachment to Arab identity
Syria-Israel, Politics, 9/6/2005
Sheikh Towfik Hamoud Abu Saleh renewed on Monday "commitment of our people in the occupied Golan to their national belonging to homeland, Syria and to their Arab identity."
Sheikh Towfik Hamoud Abu Saleh chaired a delegation of the Syrian Arab citizens of occupied Golan, who recently visited Syria.
"People of the Syrian Golan have a high national spirit and strong will to continue strife in order to gain their freedom and to return to the homeland," Sheikh Saleh said in a statement to the Syrian daily Tishreen, hailing Syria's "honorable stances".
Abu Saleh underlined the active role of media in "conveying strife of the Arab citizens in Golan and in unveiling the Zionist inhuman violations that contradict the simplest principles of human rights."
