Families of Libyan prisoners of opinion concerned

Feeling of concern overwhelms several families in Libya over the possibility that the authorities will backtrack from its decision, it had promissed to take more than one time, concerning the release of political prisoners and prisoners of opinion. This came several days after the beginning of al-Fateh celebrations anniversary in Libya.

Several relatives and families of the Libyan political detainees expressed the feeling of surprise over the decision of the minister of justice which called for the release of criminal prisoners, including first rate criminals, at a time when several university teachers and engineers are still inside prisons.

The matter pertains to the decision of the authorities to release 1675 criminal prisoners including 500 prisoners of opinion. This comes on the occasion of al-FatehSeptember 1st revolution of 1969, when Muammar al-Qathafi came to power in Libya.

The wife of one man sentenced to life imprisonment in the issue of the Muslim Brothers said that her husband did not receive any message from the prison's administration indicating they he was released, besides they have no idea when they will be released. The wife is still expecting the release of her husband who had completed his 8th year in detention.
