Abul-Gheit: Egypt to host conference on national reconciliation in Somalia

Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul -Gheit Sunday said that Egypt welcomes representatives of the fledgling interim Somali institutions who are to take part in a national reconciliation conference in Cairo in response to a request by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
He said that well preparations should precede the convening of the conference in order to enable participants to achieve the cherished goals as well as to help the Somali government discharge its duties and restore security and stability to Somalia.
