Zeibari: Iraq to open embassy in Kuwait
Iraq-Kuwait, Politics, 9/5/2005

The Iraqi foreign minister Hoshiar Zeibari said on Sunday that Iraq will reopen its embassy in Kuwait within weeks. This will be for the first time since its closure following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.

Zeibari said "we have reached the final agreement with the Kuwaiti government in order to resume our diplomatic activities and we will open our embassy within few weeks" giving no specific date or extra information on the agreement. On Kuwait's reopening its embassy in Baghdad, Zeibari said this issue is decided "by the Kuwaiti government, according to its estimates of the situation in Iraq."

On the other hand, the Kuwaiti cabinet announced in a statement during its meeting on Sunday to donate 10 million dollars for the victims of al-Imams bridge stampede in Baghdad.
