Saudi security clash with armed men
Saudi Arabia, Local, 9/5/2005

A confrontation took place on Sunday between gunmen and the Saudi security forces in al-Dammam city, Saudi Arabia, which is situated in the eastern area overlooks the Gulf, resulted in killing one gunman and wounding another.

Saudi security sources were quoted as saying that the clashes took place after the security forces monitored two suspects in one of the streets of al-Dammam. The sources added that the gunmen started to open fire when they felt they were chased by security men "and the security forces returned fire, and this resulted in killing one of the wanted and injuring another and detaining him."

Meantime, fully armed security forces are mopping up the area as a precaution to see if wanted men are there. Witnesses said that the clashes took place in Muhammad Bin Fahd street, a commercial street where offices of foreign companies, especially western ones, exist. They added that the security forces cordoned the site of the clashes.
