Blair ignores al-Qaida 's claim for the attacks on London
Iraq-UK, Politics, 9/3/2005
The British prime minister Tony Blair refused to comment on the announcement attributed to al-Qaida leader over the its claiming responsibility for London's explosion despite the persistence of journalists in a press conference held on Friday.
For his part, the British foreign office secretary Jack Straw said he is waiting for the report of the British police on the content of the tape attributed to Ayman al-Zawahiri, the second ranking man in al-Qaida organization. Straw said that "there is no justification for terrorism. Those who alleged they talk in the name of Islam had killed Muslims."
On the other hand, the British Muslims Council condemned on Friday the video tape of Saddiq Khan, before he had implemented one of the attacks of September July 7th in London, but the Council indicated that the war in Iraq feeds extremism among young Muslims in Britain.
The spokesman for the council Enayat Boglawala told the BBC that nothing can justify committing terrorist acts against innocent civilians. After the tape was broadcast, the police in Britain on Thursday evening announced it had known about it. The spokeswoman for Scotland Yard said "we know about the tape. It constitutes part of the current investigation."
