Berri confers US Congress Delegation

Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament discussed with a visiting delegation of the U.S. Congress the latest developments on the Lebanese arena, the "Israeli repeated violations of the Lebanese sovereignty" and the situation in the occupied Palestinian lands and Iraq.

During the meeting, Nabih Berri pointed to the Israeli violations of the south Lebanon, and stressed the necessity of the U.S. Congress to help the situation in Lebanon and in the region. For his part, Chairman of the delegation Senator Thomas Davis said in a statement that "the American delegation has made fruitful talks with Berri." and stressed support of the U.S. Congress and the American administration to the Lebanese government.
