Mrs Suzanne Mubarak tours integrated development project

Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, the chairperson of the technical advisory committee of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM), is to inspect Wednesday, one of the community development projects in the suburb of Doweiqa, East of Cairo.

The project, carried out by NCCM in cooperation with a number of international organizations and associations, primarily aims at tackling child labor issues, providing necessary health and social care to child laborers as well empowering low -income brackets economically through small interest-free loans.

NCCM Secretary-General Ambassadress Mushira Khattab said that NCCM was doing its best to enable non-governmental organizations operating in the district play a greater role in community service.

The project, she said, is partly aimed at turning hazardous employment places into safer ones as well as to provide vocational training programs designed to improve children's skills.
