Syria-Qatar, Economics, 8/31/2005
Qatari Crown Prince Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani ratified on Tuesday the agreement to build the Syrian-Qatari Company For Investment.
The accord was signed last July in Damascus with a capital of $ 200 million that might be increased in the future.
Economic Qatari sources told SANA the partnership between the two states has seen momentum and development that would contribute to boosting cooperation between the two states. "Many companies would be created from this company to work in many sectors which their main aim to invest Qatari money in Syria," the sources said.
They added that the target of establishing such a company was to provide job opportunities to the Syrian side, while the Qatari side was seeking to attract strategic partners together with Syrian and Qatari businessmen, to invest in different domains.
There are a number of Qatari businessmen who would like to enter Syria through investment, tourist and industrial projects, the matter that would lead to boost and develop ties between the two states, Qatari sources noted.
