15 Iraqis, one US soldier killed

The American army said that one soldier was killed and another injured when a military copter was obliged to land after it was hit while flying in Tel-Afer area north of Iraq. Witnesses said that one American helicopter fell on Monday evening in southwest of the city.

Iraq was on Monday an area for acts of violence as unidentified gunmen killed 15 Iraqis while traveling from Samera city to al-Ramadi west Iraq.

An army Lt. Gen, in the ministry of the interior was killed together with the brother of the governor of Baghdad in two attacks in Baghdad. In Baqouba the Iraqi police announced that two of its members were injured in a bomb explosion while trying to dismantle it.

The American army said it detained 17 suspects in a series of breaking in operations in Musil city north of Iraq, noting that large amounts of weapons were confiscated in the western areas.

In another development, the Sunni Waqf ( Islamic Trust) led by Sheikh Ahmad Abdul Ghafour al-Sameree and the Iraqi Islamic party held the Iraqi government responsible for executing 36 Iraqis, all of them are Arab Sunnis, after they were kidnapped by men wearing police uniform.
