Amr Mousa stresses Iraq's Arabism
Iraq-Regional, Politics, 8/29/2005

Arab League Secretary General voiced Sunday satisfaction over the latest positive amendments in the Iraqi draft constitution which stresses Iraq's Arabism describing it as "a part of both the Arab and the Islamic worlds."

"The item which stipulates that the Iraqi Arab people are a part of the Arab nation will be replaced by another item that stresses Iraq's Arabism," Amr Mousa said in a statement, indicating that he got these confirmations through many phone calls with the Iraqi President Jalal Talibani and Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari as well as with other Iraqi officials.

"Before amending it, that item had constituted a great danger related to Iraq's past, present and future," he added.
