White House official says Iraqis working to craft durable document

Both the White House and the State Department expressed support for the Iraq's efforts to draft a constitution. White House official Trent Duffy says the United States is encouraged by the progress the Iraqis are making and is ready to assist them in that effort, while State Department spokesman Sean McCormack notes that all Iraqi groups, Shiite, Sunni, Kurds and others, have been involved in the discussions aimed at resolving outstanding political issues.
