US forces hold Syrian trucks going to Iraq

The American forces in Iraq resumed seizing trucks coming from Syria, just one day after the two Syrian and Iraqi ministers of transports announced resolving the truck crisis between the two states, and easing their measures across the borders between them.

In al-Tanf area on the Syrian- Iraqi borders, there are more than 450 trucks loaded with with foodstuffs, timber and steel. Owners of the seized trucks said that were exposed to theft during night time and attacks by armed gangs.

The American forces blocked two crossings in November 2004.

Worthy mentioning that there are three border crossing between Syria and Iraq which are al-Tanf, Abu Kamal and al-Yaroubeyah.
