Al-Jazeera: Explosion north of Beirut leaves three injured
Lebanon, Local, 8/23/2005

Three persons were injured in an explosion which took place in a car garage near Prominad Hotel in al-Zalqa area north of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Al-Jazeera TV said that the explosion took place in an area crowded with people visiting the cafes there, but placing the bomb in a garage in an isolated place in that area made the number of casualties minimal.

Al-Jazeera added that the three wounded men are a member in the civil defense and two other persons, noting that security sources expected the explosion to be a result of a bag filled with explosives placed in the garage.

This explosion came after the Lebanese security forces said that it found 1100 hg of explosives hidden inside a deserted factory in Bshenin area, in the north Lebanon. The Lebanese security said that the items found included TNT.
