Syria and the 'socio-economic market'

The economic expert in the EU Robert Ricart on Monday expressed confidence in success of the "socio-economic market" model being pursued by Syria of concern for a free market while caring about social consequences of such a market.
In his lecture at the Economic Symposium on the concept of "Socio-Economic Market", Ricart pointed out to the bases and principles of the successful Chinese and German experiences in this regard which are based on its relation with the modern liberal economy and capitalism and even with the socialist economy.
He touched upon the important role of the government in the socio-economic market which lies in supervision and support, as well paving the way to everyone to work in the framework of a clear strategy for reaching the hoped results.
Ricart stressed the significance of the political, economic and legislative stability in addition to independence of the Central Bank as factors of success for building this economy. The symposium is organized by the Higher Institute of Business Management.
