Israel warns Nafe Dekalim settlers, prepares to demolish Atsamouna
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 8/19/2005
The Israeli radio announced that the army will start demolishing Krim Atsamouna settlement in occupied Gaza. This followed a meeting for the ministerial committee chaired by the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon.
All citizens of this settlement were evacuated and it was officially declared as empty. According to the Israeli radio, it was decided after that to demolish the settlements of Rafiah Yam. Ghan Orde and Baat Sadeh on Sunday.
Officials in the Israeli army and police who attended the meeting said that 70% of the settlers of Gaza were evacuated and expected to complete the evacuation process of all settlers next Monday or Tuesday.
This came at a time when the Israeli police gave a grace period of one hour to hundreds of Israeli settlers and their supporters in order to evacuate a Synagogue they fortified in Nefe Dekalim, the largest settlements in Gaza, before they were taken out of it by force.
On Thursday morning the Israeli army started to evacuate Kfar Daroum settlement where opposers for the withdrawal hid.
