Egypt seek to foster traditional craftsmaship

Tourists will be able to visit a new complex in Old Cairo when touring the area showing Egyptian craftsmen while making manual artistic products. The complex aims at protecting such traditional craftsmen from dying out.
Meantime, Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak will open the complex within few days under the title "Craftsmen Workshops in Fustat." In statements to Al-Ahram daily, Cultural Minister Farouk Hosni said, it is important for the young craftsmen to practice the skills of the old craftsmen as the traditional crafts in Egypt is a creative work which reflects the Egyptian folklore.
