El-Leithi: Joint farms with 14 African countries

"Preparations are underway to set up 14 joint farms with 14 African countries including Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Congo, and others," said Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ahmed El-Leithi.

The Minister said Egypt had previously established joint farms with Nigeria and Zambia, pointing out that Egypt will host agriculture ministers of COMESA countries next September.

El-Leithi issued a decision assigning Eng. Hussein Ghonaima the task of supervising over the project of setting up joint farms with African countries.

The Minister also issued a decision to form a higher committee under the chairmanship of Ghonaima to run the projects.
