Islamic Scholars Assembly highlights relations with Syria
Lebanon-Syria, Politics, 8/18/2005
Islamic Scholars Assembly in Lebanon on Wednesday appealed to the Lebanese government to face those who want to harm the distinguished and fraternal relations between Syria and Lebanon.
The Assembly said in a statement following a meeting with Lebanese Premier Fouad Siniora that Syria has offered a lot for Lebanon, calling for strong bilateral ties to confront foreign attempts to dominate the region. The statement rejected any decision targeting the national resistance which is, along with the Lebanese army, the guarantee of Lebanon's security.
