Syria to join Kyoto Protocol

The Cabinet approved the agreement of Syria's joining to Kyoto Protocol for the year 1997 which aims at dealing with limiting gas emissions that cause global warming.
During its session Tuesday, the Cabinet endorsed the bill which stipulates for establishing a higher institution for analysis at Damascus University that would contribute to serving the local and international market as well as holding scientific research. It also discussed the bill of establishing centers for receiving and redistributing satellite data.
