Three Iraqis killed, scores injured

At least three Iraqis were killed including two police men and scores injured in attacks and American gunfire in Baghdad and Baqouba in the few past hours.
This came at a time the Iraqi political forces started a new race with time to complete discussions over the draft of the constitution as the Iraqi parliament extended by one extra week the date for writing it.
Two police men were killed and other four injured in an attack by gunmen that targeted a position for civil defense in Sader city in Baghdad. One employee in Deyali local radio of the Iraqi media network was killed and other three injured in an explosion targeting their car near and inspection point south of Baqouba.
In another incident, a source in the Iraqi ministry of interior said that some 26 Iraqi workers were injured in gunfire by an American military copter in al-Allawi area in the center of Baghdad. The source indicated that the gunfire came after the American forces suspected that the workers gathering before the hotel were armed.
On the other hand, Iraqi forces supported by the multinational forces arrested 6 wanted persons including one colonel in the dissolved Iraqi army and another one of the Egyptian nationality in a breaking in operation in Khan Bani Saad area, north of Baghdad.
In another development, the American forces said it opened an investigation into the killing incident that took place in Abu Ghreib prison in the western quarters of the Iraqi capital after a 20-year old prisoner was found dead on Monday. The man was detained over suspicion to have links to armed groups.
