Palestinian Arab refugees-annual conference

The General Assembly of the Palestinian Arab Refugees on Monday held its annual conference titled "Let's Double Efforts to Best Serve our People and their Camps in Damascus."

Director General of the Assembly Ali Musstafa and Acting Director General of UNRWA in Syria Mrs. Patricia McPhilips delivered speeches in which they stressed necessity of continuing work to improve living conditions of the refugees until a comprehensive peace is established in the region.

The two officials indicated that UNRWA and the General Assembly of the Palestinian Arab Refugees have joint aims represented by securing the delivery of basic human services to the Palestinian refugees, providing good learning, medical and social services.

They pointed out that several projects have been achieved for the welfare for the refugees, including providing fresh water and sewage system services in Nairab and Ain al-Tillal refuges and other initiatives supported by Japan and the Unites States as well as the automation of the Civil Registration Department.
