Several killed in attacks in Iraq

Several areas in Iraq witnessed in the few past hours various attacks that caused the death of several Iraqis. The Iraqi police found 30 bodies in a mass grave in Auwereij city, south of Baghdad. The police sources said the bodies were buried in the past six months and bear traces of torture and gunfire.

In another development, some 11 Iraqis were injured in a booby trapped bike targeting a convoy for the Iraqi police in al-Karradeh area in the center of Baghdad. Police sources said that one suicide attacker riding a bike detonated himself on Monday near a vehicle for the police which was stationed before a traditional restaurant.

Earlier, some 20 Iraqis including five members of the Iraqi police were injured n mortars shelling near the headquarters of the ministry of the interior in the center of the capital on Monday morning.

In al-Amereyah west of Baghdad, one Iraqi soldier was killed and another injured following an attack launched by gunmen against a sedan car they were riding.

In Ltefeih south of the capital, the police said that an American vehicle opened fire at a sedan car and killed its driver and injured other two. The American amry has not immediately commened on the incident.

Three Iraqi soldiers were killed and other two injured in an attack launched by gunmen at an inspection point for the Iraqi army in Bahraz village south of Baqouba situated northeast of Baghdad.

In Falluja, medical source said that four Iraqi soldiers were killed and other two injured in a bomb explosion.
