Marsa Matrouh Smart School opens

Egypt's Minister of Communication and Information Technology Tarek Kamel said the government is keen to provide the communication and information technology countrywide.
The new Marsa Matrouh Smart School for Girls was opened Sunday. Thanks to a joint effort between the ministries of IT and Education, the Italian government and USAID.
The ceremony was conducted by Minister of IT. Matrouh Smart School is part of the Smart Schools Network project the IT Ministry is carrying out to increase the usage of IT techniques in education, said Tarek Kamel.
He added that rehabilitating existing schools nationwide and training both teachers and students is part of this advanced project.
"The ministry is helping students to obtain international licenses for using computers known as an international Computer Driving License (ICDL),"said Kamel.
The Smart School project aims to narrow the digital divide and turn the school into a productive unit to meet increasing IT demands of the local market, explained Kamel.
